The existence of land claims over the Lower South Coast has done
little to dent demand for properties. Although the claims have put the
wind up some buyers, the expectation of "panic sellers" has not
materialised. On the whole, it is business as usual with
"right-priced" properties moving relatively quickly.
The
upward pressure on property prices experienced during the December 2003
"seller's market" has been maintained for prime properties along the entire Lower South Coast.
Property values on the
KZN South Coast still lag behind those of the Cape Peninsula and the KZN North Coast
and excellent value can still be found.
Per Business Day, May 28 2004, "Agents
say a beachfront home for sale under R2m is a rare find and should be snapped
up."
